We can also set up auto pay on your credit card as well. To ensure the safety of our customers' information, we are PCI compliant and keep your information in our secure environment. When you sign up for auto pay, you may qualify for a per gallon discount. Please call the office for details on how to sign up!

Budget Plan

Customers who are enrolled in our budget plan are able to keep their winter heating bills manageable. Instead of paying for all your fuel during the winter months, our budget plan lets you spread your payments equally over 12 months. This way, your monthly bills go down dramatically, so you won't be hit with your highest bills right after the holidays when you can least afford them. Your monthly payment is an estimate based on past fuel use; if your actual fuel costs turn out to be a little higher or lower than estimated, we'll make adjustments along the way.

Price Protection

North Shore Oil Company, Inc. offers capped price and fixed price protection, as well as a market price option.

Capped Price

We offer price protection in the form of a capped (or ceiling) price. A capped price is the maximum price per gallon you will pay for fuel ... and should fuel prices drop, you will pay the market price.

Capped Price Pros: If the price of fuel goes up, you are protected by the capped price; if the price of fuel goes down, you receive the lower price.

Fixed Price:

We also offer the option of locking in a Fixed Price. You lock into a set price for a specific amount of gallons for a period of time.

Fixed Price Pros: You are protected from increasing fuel costs; you will know exactly how much you are paying for every gallon of fuel.

Fixed Price Cons: If market prices go down, you do not benefit because you are locked into a set price until your contracted gallons have been exhausted.

Market Price

We also offer our customers a posted (or market or variable) price. On the day of delivery, you will be billed the North Shore Oil Company, Inc. market rate per gallon, which will be directly related to that day's market price as determined by the NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange).

Market Price Pros: There are no fees; discounts are available for many customers; if prices are lower when you purchase your oil, you will receive the lower price; you are not locked into a price.

Market Price Cons: If prices are higher when you purchase your oil, you will receive the higher price; you are not protected from price increases.

Heating Assistance Is Available

HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) is a federally funded program that helps qualified persons pay their heating bills during times when they need assistance. Need is determined by your income and other factors. Emergency assistance is also available. Funds are limited, so if you're interested, please apply early.

You may apply for HEAP benefits by mail, in person at your local social services office, over the phone, or over the Internet. See the New York State HEAP Web site at to find out more about this program.

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) assists income-eligible families and individuals by reducing their heating/cooling costs and improving the safety of their homes through energy efficiency measures. Improvements performed through the program include air sealing (weather-stripping, caulking), wall and ceiling insulation, heating system improvements or replacement, efficiency improvements in lighting, hot water tank and pipe insulation, and refrigerator replacements with highly efficient Energy Star rated units. Both single-family and multi-family buildings are assisted. Household energy use reductions and resultant energy cost savings are significant, with an average savings in excess of 20%.
